Potty Training: Day 19

The girls have started using the big potty now with the help of an Elmo kid-sized potty seat. They had no problems using it, much to my relief. I guess those "practice" sessions before we started training again have paid off. We're going to their cousin Meagan's third birthday party this Saturday, and I wanted the girls to start having some big potty time before we go to someone else's house. Hopefully, they will be willing to use a different big potty if I take their Elmo seat along.

Sometimes when we have potty time, the girls have to sit on the big potty AND the pink potty AND the blue potty. They make sure they save up enough to at least dribble in all three. Hey! At least they're using the potty, which is more than what I can say for their brother. The girls have even tried coaxing Zach into the bathroom with them at potty time, and he still refuses.

Hannah is still trying to poop at potty time, and sometimes she's successful but more often than not, she still goes in her training pants. Jessie, on the other hand, isn't willing to try to poop on the potty at all. She's still lagging behind Hannah in that she gets too busy to remember to go potty. Hannah is starting to go to the potty on her own and lets me know that she's going.

We got some good news earlier this week with regard to Zach and Hannah's intestinal bug. It is a virus (the stool test came back negative), and the kids just need a little more time for their systems to calm down and build an immunity. I asked the doctor about the peanut butter, and she thinks its irritating their systems because it's hard to digest. She said to hold off on any peanut butter for about a month and then reintroduce it. I hope she's right because the kids are constantly asking for it!
