The kids and I all went to the doctor today for our annual wellness exams. I wasn't sure how it would go with all four of us getting our exams, and I wasn't sure if the doctor's staff was ready for what it would take to get us all through the exams. I figured I'd try it once, and if it didn't go well, I'd schedule mine separately from theirs next year. I thought it went well, so I'll probably schedule our appointments the same way next year.
I went first since my exam was a little more extensive than the kids. While the doctor was busy with my checkup, the nurses took the kids out of the room and got their weights, height measurements, temps, etc. I didn't hear any screaming, so I assume all of that went okay.
Hannah stands 38 1/4" tall, and weighed 32 pounds. Zach and Jessie both stand 37 1/2" tall. Zach is the heaviest, weighing 32 1/2 lbs. Jessie weighed 28 lbs. I won't share with you my height and weight. Suffice it to say that I haven't shrunk or grown any and I'm maintaining a healthy weight (the same as before I was pregnant, which thrills me to no end!).
All of us had good exams. The doctor was extremely pleased with the kids' development. The only thing she noticed is that their language skills are not quite where other 3 year olds are, but that is the nature of multiples. Multiples tend to start talking later because of having their own language. We talked about preschool options to help further their language skills and increasing their social skills (e.g., playing with kids other than their siblings). Something else for Greg and I to start thinking about.
Zach has a new girlfriend named Kelly. All three kids adore Kelly, but I think Zach has soft spot for her. Kelly is a nurse at the doctor's office and is really great with the kids. When we were ready to leave, all three kids walked to the front office calling for Kelly. The other nurses and the front desk staff got a kick out of it and started helping the kids call for Kelly. It was really cute!
I received a lot of compliments on how well behaved the kids were this morning. I was told that there have been mom's with one child their age in the office, and that one child made more noise than Zach, Hannah and Jessie combined. Before the doctor saw us, she was surprised to find out we were there because they were being so good and so quiet. Hearing stuff like that really makes me proud of my kids.
